Day 13

55 miles   Booneville to Berea.   The ride started out with more rural rolling hills.  I did not have any energy.  I stopped for a second breakfast at 11:00 and then felt better.  I got to Berea at 2:00.   Lots of traffic with no shoulder.  I am staying with Rose, her mom and her boyfriend Nathan.  She is a Warm Showers host who has been taking in traveling cyclists for the past 4 years.   She is a sweet gal with a big heart.

  1. I don't know who Marianne is, but her comments are the best part of this blog. I log on just to read her encouragement.

  2. Rose is just beautiful....inside and out! 55 miles is no 'spit in the bucket' but maybe your body is telling you to 'GAS UP' at the nearest restaurant and relax and enjoy the people a little longer. You need to find roads with a 24% grade downhill like we did and coast for awhile! Stay safe.

P.S to Wuss in Boots....I'm only his MOM. And you are???

  3. Mom, that would be Chris. He's using his hiking nickname.

Glad you had a nice place to stay tonight and nice people to talk to. People can really amaze you at times. I hope your legs are stronger tomorrow. Listen to your body and eat or rest when it tells you. Can't wait to talk tomorrow! xoxo

  4. You didn't happen to tell Rose about your brother did you?
You know, the one with the "new" BMW with the custom passenger seat!
