Day 7

  1. Love the flower pot rider! And the wonderful people that are your hosts tonight! Looking at the map we're wondering why the bike route takes you north and then across Virginia instead of straight across. Seems like alot of additional miles. Dad & I met people like Dr Lee and Sarah in Europe that let us stay at their home while they went out. Couldn't believe our good fortune either. Hope you continue to meet such great people along the way. Ride safe. Hope the weather and the legs
    are holding out.

  2. Well, it sounds like you had a pretty easy day of it. I, on the other hand, had a brutal ride this morning AFTER walking Annie around the big loop! I probably rode 5-10 miles on the rough neighborhood roads. I wasn't sure I would make it up Colonial Drive hill! Almost had to ditch my one water bottle and basket to lighten the load! I had to use a low gear though! Then, when I got to the long straight out to 315 there were wicked head winds. Again, I had to drop into low gear and grind away. When I turned around to had back it seemed as though the winds were against me, my friend, and once again I was riding into the wind! Riding back up the other side of Colonial hill wasn't as bad. But when I rounded the corner and headed down Muirfield the wind was in my face once again. I was so happy to see the driveway again! I had to lounge by the pool the rest of the day to regain my strength!

By the way, where is the nozzle for the pump that fits my bike tire? I couldn't pump up my tires and that added to my brutal ride!

Eat and sleep well this evening! xoxo
